ＧＰＳ機器のように衛星から発せられる電波で位置情報を測定する方法とは異なったものです。
この「ＧＰＳインソール」という名称のビーコン装置もやはり、充電の必要もありますから、おひとり暮らしのご高齢者には不向きです。
しかも、ビーコン装置から発信される電波を街中で拾って受信する装置＝インフラ（あるいは街中の多くの人のスマホにアプリを入れておくこと）も必要です。
